Hybrid PDF

What is a Hybrid PDF?

A Hybrid PDF is an informal term for a PDF file that combines human-readable pages with a machine-readable data payload, such as XML, embedded within the document.

Commonly used in e-finance workflows, it adheres to standards like PDF/A-3 and supports e-invoicing and e-procurement formats, including ZUGFeRD, Order-X, and Factur-X. This dual structure enables both visual document presentation and automated data processing.
