What is a File Attachment
A file attachment in a PDF refers to a file embedded within the document, often as a File Attachment annotation. These annotations allow various file types (e.g., PDFs, images, or documents) to be attached to a specific location in the PDF, viewable and accessible via a clickable icon.
Defined in PDF 2.0 (ISO 32000-2) and detailed in Application Note 002: Associated Files, file attachments enhance document interactivity for sharing supplementary content, such as references or data, in a compact, organized format.
